And She Thrived!

By K Sangeetha

You took away the spring time of my life when I was about to bloom

You made me feel remote

You gave me bruises

You gave me intolerable pains

Screaming every night oh lupus let me live

Every single day I fought a battle just to breathe normally

I cried desperately for the life I wanted

I never wanted to look at myself because I looked healthier and healthier

Then came a day you took away my bean shaped organs

Oh! Lupus you failed I conquered you and I am back

Now, when I stand in front of the mirror I say to myself I need a normal life as a normal girl with all my dreams turning real

Yes, then I realised you still have left an impression on me

Where people no longer look at me as an ordinary person

Better late than never

When I have conquered you nothing in this world is hopeless for me.
