Fears of a Woman

By Swastikaa Khanna

A girl was walking home after school,

This time she was alone, timid and uncool.

There was a fear in her heart,

She was afraid of those demons,

Waiting to tear her apart.

Of what she had seen,

And what she had heard,

Women were just caged birds.

Last month, her mother had told,

A teenage girl had been sold,

teary eyed

Then after selling her,

They used her,

Then after using her,

They just threw her.

Her body had life ,

But her soul did not.

Those demons pulled a trigger and the girl was shot.

An innocent's life was taken,

Those demons had mistaken,

They forgot that they had come from a woman's womb,

And that girl would also have been a woman soon.

If they would have not killed her,

Her womanhood would have been near,

She would have grown into a beautiful woman,

Would have been bold and not preyed by men.

But of course,

Why would they let that happen,

They want a girl to be in a room, crampened.

They won't let her speak,

They'll make her quiet and weak.

They'll suppress her voice,

They won't give her a choice,

They'll get her married as soon as possible,

They'll make her life miserable.

And they'll do it,

Until there will be no light in her life,

Until she'll be too exhausted to fight.

But,

They always forget

That they were born from a woman

They are a woman's son.

Yet they don't respect a female

They make her feeble and pale

Demons Like them should be given a place In hell,

Because that's where they fit very well.
