5 Most active volcano's around the world

1.Mount Kilauea, Hawaii

Since may 2018 the volcano has been erupting with lava, expanding over 13 square miles of the island's (Hawaii) surface. It witnesses nearly 2.6 million footfall annually.

2. Erta Ale, Ethiopia

The literal translation of the word Erta Ale is "smoking mountain".

Residing on the Danakil Depression, the hottest place on earth, Erta ale is the rarest in the world, and it has been erupting since 1967.

3. Mount Erebus, Ross Island, Antarctia

James Clark Ross discovered the most active volcano in the southernmost part of the earth in 1841 along with one more right next to it. He then named the two volcanoes after his ships, Mt Terror and Mt Erebus. Interestingly, Mt. Terror never erupted and remained inactive, while Mt Erebus has been exploding ever since its discovery.

If you plan to visit, don't forget to take permission from the government of New Zealand online.

4.Mount Aso, Kyushu, Japan

Japan's most active volcano is a complex structure of active vents at the centre of a 14-mile-wide caldera. This caldera is among the largest in the world.

Even though Aso appears to be calm on the periphery, but when it flares up, it's a toxic beast you would want to avoid.

5.Mount Merapi, Indonesia

The Fire Mountain has been erupting since 1548 and is solely accountable for the release of smoke 300 days in a year. It's Indonesia's most volatile volcano, and it's under a no-go zone.#nono
