Gold Medalist Carolina Marin offers her Medals to the REAL heroes: The frontline workers

Carolina Marin, an ace badminton player from Spain, recently interacted with the frontline hospital professionals of the Virgen del Mar hospital in Madrid through a video call. The Olympic winner was willing to offer all her medals as a mark of respect and utmost gratitude to the relentless service by the health professionals.

Marin in an interview to Indian Express stated, “I offered all my medals to them when I was talking to them as they are in fact the real heroes in Spain. They deserve every applause and accolade.”

She added, “It was inspirational. I just wanted to thank them. They are the real heroes for all the effort in taking care of sick people in Spain during these terrible times. They did an incredible job and I would like to thank the frontline fighters who risk their lives every day and continue to serve people like us.”

Spain is among the worst hit countries in the world. As per official estimates, the current CoronaVirus cases in Spain is 298,869 with 28,388 deaths. Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has urged people to remain proactive and calm. He said, "the early detection of these outbreaks shows the health system is much better prepared than in March."
