National Entrance Exam Held in Iran Amidst Increasing COVID Cases

Despite red coronavirus alert status in 14 provinces announced by the Ministry of Health of Iran, the national master entrance exam has been held.


The decision to hold the entrance exam, despite the corona prevalence in recent weeks, has provoked criticism from parliamentarians and government officials. Postponing the entrance exam will cause anxiety and injustice to the candidates and accumulation of candidates will be problematic next year


Muharram mourning ceremonies have not been prohibited despite the spread of the corona.

Iran is among the ten countries with the highest number of victims. The BBC has obtained information showing that the actual death toll is nearly three times what Iranian officials have reported.
