Russia Registered The First Coronavirus Vaccine

On Tuesday, Russia's President Vladimir Putin announced world's first coronavirus vaccine. After successful completion of two months of trials on humans, the Russian health ministry approved and registered the vaccine. Putin said, “The most important thing is to ensure full safety of using the vaccine and its efficiency”. He further added that the vaccine developed by Moscow’s Gamaleya Institute offers “sustainable immunity.”

One of Putin's daughters took part in the experiment. She was given two shots of the vaccine, without mention who among Mari and Katerina took part, President Putin confirmed her daughter's well being. He said, "After the first vaccination, she had a body temperature of 38 degrees Celsius, while the following day it was slightly over 37 degrees Celsius, that’s it. After the second injection, the second vaccination, her temperature also rose a little, and then everything cleared up, she feels good and the titers [antibody] are high,”
Russia is looking for its mass production, however, the vaccine awaits approval by the WHO. According to some media reports, the vaccine is named after the first satellite launched in space in 1957, “Sputnik V”.
Russia is the fourth largest worst-hit country in the world.
