Sanna Marin is world's youngest serving Prime Minister

Sanna Marin of Finland is a 34-year-old, social democrat, who is set to become world's youngest serving Prime Minister. According to media reports, the new government will consist of 12 female and seven male ministers, and Marin will be the third female to head the government in Finland.

In 1906, Finland was one of the first countries in Europe to give women voting rights, and in 1907 it became the first country in the world to vote women to Parliament. Riso Uimonen, a political commentator, aptly stated,

"For the world, it's interesting that they are young, and that they are all female. For Finland, this is not a sensation".

Let's hope for it not to become a sensation for the world, but till then, this is a proud moment for the country, for the world, for young girls aiming to achieve and succeed in life. They have role models to emulate, to look upto, and this sure is not a small feat.
