The Essence of You that Stays

The way you are there in my prayers, you must be wishing someone to be yours, too. Isnt that exactly how the world runs? Our desires passing from one another. Just like the months which pass by and perhaps, come back again, to alarm, that they are really never gone. Time flips. Situations change. But our feelings do not. The calender has renewed itself four times, already, yet you are struck in my mind. Unwillingly, I find you, still, in my dreams, poisoning each peaceful sleep of mine.

Coming back to the fact that feelings never really change, I would not deny that I still wish to have you back. I wish we would be the same us that we had been ages ago. For maybe just a night. A night when the lights go off, the tranquil silver moon light enlighten the slight corners of you. A night when the filament is embroidered with sparkling glitters. With stars twinkling over us. You, and your imperfections lighting up each inch of mine. We would stare blankly. The tune of an anonymous bird, singing miles away, perfecting the background music. And the chilly air, blowing the aroma from the petals of roses nearby, and indeed adding to the beauty of the night. We would, sometimes, speak. Talk about how our day was. And for the rest, keep falling in love. As if, it is my last day or yours. We would settle in the silent darkness, ensuring the daylight would come soon but secretly praying that it, actually, never does. We would wake up, the next morning, just as we do. Like everyday else. We would dive into work without caring about the night.

It would be one such night that we drink till we are drowned in the same and wake up, as if nothing ever happened. We would escape the realm of reality, that night, returning to the same, in the morning. After all, once in a crescendo, you get to have the person, of your prayers, to sail away the night with you. Thats rare, special and, unusual. Yet I promise, I will, at that moment, love you the most, more than i ever did, or will, to anyone.
